The PGA Tour Golf Academy is located in St. Augustine, Florida. It is located on the site of World Golf Village and is the only PGA Golf Academy of its kind. The golf sessions are for anyone who is interested in honing their golf skills. The Academy offers two to five day golf school session and private golf lessons. The Academy uses a state-of-the-art video analysis system, hitting bays that can be used in all types of weather, and many covered tee areas. The video analysis systems allows students to look at their golf swings and look at golf swings from some of the PGA Tour Professionals. The students also receive a written recommendation on what areas they need to improve.

 

The World Golf Village has two golf courses, King & Bear and Slammer & Squire. Both of them are par-72 courses and are utilized for tournaments. Some of the tournaments that have played there include a Champions Tour, the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf and Shell's Wonderful World of Golf.

 

The King & Bear golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, who are both World Golf Hall of Fame members. They designed the course as a picturesque facility, amid lakes, pine and live oaks that are 200 years old. Golf for Women magazine has rated King & Bear as one of the Top 50 Courses for Women. Slammer & Squire was designed by Bobby Weed with assistance from Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen. Mr. Snead was known as "The Slammer" and Mr. Sarazen was known as "The Squire". This course is surrounded by woodlands, wetlands and authentic splendor.

 

The Golf Academy programs have a 4 to 1 student/teacher ratio, so the instructor can have personalized instruction. This personalized instruction is set up so that each student can benefit from the program in short period of time.

 

The Five Day Program Session is detailed to cover all areas of a golfer's game, which includes golf course training for two days. This program also includes a five night stay at World Golf Village, five days of golf sessions and post sessions, student manual and other amenities.

 

The Three Day Program is the one most students choose. This program provides complete one-on-one training, practice on the golf range and short game. Students are allowed to hone their new skills while playing a game of golf. This program also includes a three night stay at World Golf Village, three days of golf sessions and post sessions, golf course training, student manual and other amenities.

 

The Two Day Program provides golf sessions with each person to give them assistance in each part of their golf game. This program also includes a two night stay at World Golf Village, two days of golf sessions and after sessions, golf course training, student manual and other amenities.

 

The PGA Golf Academy offers special programs for beginners to advanced golfers. These include the 3-day Full Swing and 2-day Short Game sessions. These sessions are a godsend to helping students cut the dullness from their game. The 3-day Full Swing sessions include 15 hours of instruction, full-swing school, course management, practice how-tos and golf course instruction. The 2-days Short Game sessions include 10 hours of instruction, scoring from the greenside, putting, chipping, pitching and much more.

 

Other programs that the Academy offers include: Elite Schools, Custom School and Corporate Clinics. Private Lessons are available for anyone who wants them. Mini Golf Schools are available for experienced golfers who want to increase their skill in certain areas of their golf game.
