Golf Club Swing Tips
Learning to Swing your golf club? Here's how you can get that perfect swing.
Holding the Ball Up:
When you begin to swing does your left knee collapse? You can't seem to hold it right? This is a common problem with quite a few golfers. The result of this collapsing knee is that your shoulders will drop and your hips will sway and then overturn. To correct this imagine that there is a basket ball between your knees and you have to keep it there. If imagining it doesn't help then try it out! The results will amaze you.
The Hitch Hiking Position:
During your back swing try to keep an image in your mind, think that you hand is placed in a hitchhiking position. So this way when your club is at your waist height, looking back you will be able to see the thumb pointing skyward. Another position to try out is that you are handshaking and your palm is neither upwards or downwards. Tricks like these will ensure that your swing is perfected and can't go wrong.
Pausing Just before you hit:
In a hurry to swing, don't be because to swing very quickly is a mistake often repeated by many. Strength and increasing speed are just fine but in the midst of it all don't forget your rhythm. Feel a slight pause at the peak of the backswing before you change the direction and begin the downswing. Following this will make you land your ball in the right place more than often.
Right Knee- Rock Solid:
When you are about to swing back it's important to keep the balance on the insides of the right foot. If you fail in doing this then the contact will be lost and the power too goes out. While taking the club backwards ensure that your right knee joint is a stone wall and solid enough. This aids to make your body curve adequately beneath the ball so that you shot is aggressive and goes flying.
Use your muscles:
If you feel golf is just a game that can be played only by the wrist then you are wrong. It's all about how well do you use your muscles for it. To be able to make an effective enough swing you need to make use of the muscles of your legs and the trunk. Amateurs just hit the ball making use of only the wrist and the arms but for the ultimate consistency the power of the complete body needs to be used.
Hitting low in the Wind:
Players sometimes feel that they need to make powerful shorts in a breeze. However this is not the case as hitting hard in the breeze will lead to hitting the ball very high and spinning it more. But to hit the ball lower and have it more in control, you need to place the ball behind yourself a few inches while making the stroke and your hands should be forward. The length of your club should be longer and swing it easy.
Using the Loft of the Club to make the most of it:
When you are trying to hit the ball in the air and making it airborne what needs to be done is to hit it down and then through the air . The club's loft will allow a flight path that is natural and give you better contact. The loft of the golf club is an important feature in it, so why not make the most of it.
Breezy, so you need to make an Easy Shot:
When the whether is breezy so just remember that you should take the easy way out and swing along with the breeze. Over swinging will take your ball too high to make a controlled shot. Related Articles on Golf Swing Tips
